Who needs medicine... I've got magazines!!!

So this is going on day 3 that I have felt pretty icky. I keep taking meds and hoping that it will get better, but its not really working too well. I think that I am getting a little better, and I think that having the weekend off from preceptorship and resing will be what I need!
Last night before I went to bed I was reading a magazine that I have and I came across this....

"Strengthens immunity: Reading Magazines"
Take 10 min a day to peruse magazines, and you'll fortify your defenses against colds within one week. "Reading articles about other people stimulates the release of oxytocin, a 'bonding' hormone that also counteracts the body's stress responses," notes Scott Haltzman, M.D., a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry at Brown University. This hormonal shift can up the body's output of infection-fighting white blood cells by 20%!

So, if you are experiencing a spring cold like a lot of people I seem to know are, go out and get yourself some magazines!!!!!

I was flipping channels this morning while I was getting ready to eat lunch, and I came across the Rachael Ray show. I've never seen it before, but I found myself stopping to see what she was up to, and boy was she up to something! Rachael and her guest were talking about how long you should keep common beauty products like loofas, mascara, and make up brushes before bacteria start to settle in. If you are interested go to the link. But warning: It will shock you!!! (especially the loofa!)

So, I have realized that I love to craft and make things, but I have also realized that I copy most ideas from other people!!!!! I am guilty of committing craft plagarism all of the time!!!
Here is one example....

I saw this piece of artwork on the Pottery Barn Kids website and decided that I wanted to recreate it for my room in Tuscaloosa

So, I did and this is how it turned out....

I like it, its just that I wish that I could have come up with it on my own!!!! Maybe one day I will be able to have my own vision and make something on my own!!!

In the meantime, I think it would be really fun to make one of these...

If you have a lot of unused tissue paper, this would be so much fun!! I love it!!!!
I guess I will just keep on stealing everyone elses crafty ideas....oh well!

  4. I feel the same way! I make crafty things but usually just copying of cute things someone else thought of first.
